Andrew & Abigail | Wisconsin Winter Elopement

Abby Calls Thursday Night:

A: “Rheanna, what are you doing on Monday?”

R: “Just editing, working on some things in the office.”

A: “Well, I’m getting married and was wondering if you could photograph it for us..?”

R: “What?! Yes!  I would love to!  Like, this Monday?  In four days, Monday?!”

A: “Yup, in four days.”

Ah!  I cannot tell you the excitement that wrapped around the rest of our conversation!  I was over the moon that one of my nearest and dearest friends was so spontaneously and romantically saying ‘I Do!’  I was truly so happy for both of them, and felt so very honored to be asked to share in their special day!  We started the morning off at their apartment where there was plenty of laughter and smiles filling every room room.  I had some fun with their super unique and expressive wedding bands before capturing a few candid’s inside while everyone got ready.  Abigail wanted to have that ‘moment’ with Andrew, that moment every bride wants.  The moment he see’s her for the first time.  So, with some careful thought and planning we decided on a first look before heading to the courthouse.  It was a humbling -10 degree windchill, so of course we didn’t spend much time outside but found a quite little spot downtown for them to share a few moments before heading in to tie the knot!  There ceremony sweet and tender; Andrew and Abigail were surrounded by some of their nearest and dearest, and I can tell you there wasn’t a dry eye in the room- myself included.  After the formalities were completed and the deal was sealed with a kiss, Mom suggested we head down the the mall to stay out of the cold.  I was totally up for it- after all, Andrew and Abigail have some cute connections to the mall, and I loved that it was different- like them and their love.  They both have this quirkiness about them that I adore, and you can see it shine even brighter when their together.  I loved the ‘out of the norm’ idea of going to the mall for photos.  It just seemed to fit them so well.  After all, I was up for the challenge!  I would likely get the response of big eyes and a crazy look if I suggested we head to a mall for a bridal session with any other couple, but I knew they would embrace it- and they did!  Until we got kicked out anyways… Yeah, I guess we aren’t allowed to take photos in the mall, (for obvious commercial and marketing reasons, which is why I went Guerrilla style- lol).  But- it didn’t matter.  I work fast and got the few pictures I wanted to grab, without highlighting any businesses.  So no harm no foul, right?  I loved the hanging umbrellas and twinkling lights behind them.  We finished up the day with drinks at dinner at the Great Dane in Wausau where many more laughs, love, and smiles were shared.  Congrats again Abigail and Andrew!  You’re day was truly amazing, fun, special, beautiful, memorable, and so romantic!  Thank you again for asking me to capture it.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day:
