I first met Chris and Katelyn last winter for their engagement session- and it was full of belly laughs! I knew their wedding day was going to be special; they were planning a day inspired by art deco and the Great Gatsby and I couldn’t wait to see it all come together! I started the morning off at the lovely Claflin House in Stevens Point where the girls were getting ready. As I worked on the details, the girls were getting pampered downstairs and the house was filled with excitement and giggles. There were so many opportunities for photos- it was a photographer playground! As Katelyn finished up hair and makeup I headed over to the guys to work with Chris.
What a dapper guy! I mean, who doesn’t love a well-dressed groom with style for days? Kately had gotten Chris some collar stays as a wedding gift, and the rest of his details were just so classy! After he was ready for the day, I headed back to the house where Katelyn was ready to get into her gown! She slipped into her gown and put on the rest of her details and we were off to Schmeeckle Reserve for their first look!
We scouted out the perfect location with a broadleaf forest as their backdrop for their fist look; what a magical moment! These two are so very easy to work with- and a ton of fun! After they shared some intimate time together we went into their bridal session- and I could’ve photographed them all day long! Katelyn was absolutely radiant, Chris had so much dapperness and together they shared this elegance and so many great laughs; with a fairytale forest backdrop, complete with tall grasses and summers last bloom! Gah! Their wedding party met up and we had some fun with the guys and girls before heading out!
Chris and Katelyn wanted to grab a few photos back at the Claflin House (which I FULLY supported) before heading to their ceremony. (I may be head-over-heals in love with that house. That can me a thing, right?) They finished off their bridal session at Sentry World’s flower hole before we prepped for their ceremony.
Family and friends gathered on a beautiful afternoon at Sentry World’s pergola- and the sun came out just for their ceremony! The decor was absolutely stunning and guests were certainly blown away by the elaborate and tasteful floral arrangements! Everyone took their seats and the bridal party lined up. As Katelyn made her way to her groom, Chris’s eyes welled with tears- as did mine! They shared a loving and warm ceremony and sealed it with a kiss followed by a few family photos before we headed into the party!
Guests were shuttled up the hill to Muse at Sentry where guests were again impressed by the elegance and tone the flower and decor created; perfectly embracing the Great Gatsby/art deco theme with a class and such elegance! They enjoyed a lovely dinner, and many laughs before dancing the night away! Congrats again Katelyn and Chris, here are a few of my favorites! A very special thank you to Sarah Van Dreel for her lovely assistance!
