Craig & Johanna | Romantic Backyard Wedding in Amherst, WI

I’m so very excited to share Johanna and Craig’s photos- they shared a perfectly beautiful day surrounded by family and friends. I arrived early in the morning to start with their carefully selected details, the giggles were plentiful and the house began to fill up with excited bridal party members, family, and dear friends. Since they were getting married in Johanna’s parents homestead backyard, I knew I wanted to include her mothers beautiful gardens! I also absolutely adored her bouquet, which was made out of paper flowers- another great keepsake from their wedding day.

I headed down to the guys to grab a few boutineer candids before taking the guys out for some photos before the ceremony. I had some fun with the guys before heading back in because Johanna was ready to get into her own.

Johanna’s mom helped her slip into her dress and made sure all of her details were just perfect before she shared a first look with dad- which even made me tear up a bit! (I love it when brides share a special moment with dad). We then headed out for some fun photos with the girls and a beautiful bridal session with Johanna.

Under beautiful blue skies and white fluffy clouds, guests began to eagerly arrive and take their seats. The precessional started, and the tissues came out once Johanna made her was to Craig with her dad at her side. Together mom and dad gave their blessings as Johanna and Craig shared their vows and made their promises before they hey sealed the deal with a kiss!

After a few family photos we went to ‘the top of the hill’ on the homestead- which was a riot! Craig and Johanna certainly had a fun bridal party- and I loved the photos we captured of Craig driving the tractor to the hill for their photos. Johanna knew she wanted photos at the top of the hill- and they turned out amazing! With beautiful, long, flowing grass, big blue skies, and soft white clouds carefully hung above us- it was sublime!

It was then time for the party where guests shared many laughs and lots of love over dinner. Craigna and Johanna snuck away with me after dinner before their dancing for a special ‘golden hour’ session, even though the sun didn’t decide to peek out until the last few photos- but that’s okay, their session was beautiful nonetheless. We headed back with a dance floor ready for action and partied the night away. Congrats again Johanna & Craig, and thank you for asking me to share in your special day! A special thanks to these vendors, and Sara Olp for her lovely assistance!
