Joey & Becky | Whimsical Backyard Fall Wedding In Eagle River, WI

Joey and Becky shared a dreamy day that looked as though it was out of a fairytale! They planned an intimate wedding themed around their environment- autumn in the Northwoods! What they got was a fantastical day which provided a backdrop with full fall color and pretty little snow flakes sprinkled throughout. The property where they got married is very special and has been in Becky’s family of over 100 years where she has many memories; their wedding day quite possibly the most special yet.

I arrived early afternoon for Joey and Becky to share a special moment set aside just for them, a first look before their late afternoon ceremony with family and friends. I placed Joey first and went inside to escort Becky out to him. They eagerly awaited to see one another, the snow quietly falling around them. Becky made her way to Joey and turned him around- and his reaction was everything! It was clear these two were head over heals in love and I was felt so blessed to be able to capture their love and tell their story.

After a few sweet moments (and some twirls) they shared a tender bridal session. I have to take a moment here to mention how incredibly difficult it is to be cute for photos when the wind is howling while it is snowing and sleeting. Although the weather made their photos so charmingly delightful, it is remarkably challenging to be outside in with no jacket, boots, or sleeves! But these two rocked their session, never skipping a beat looking elegant as ever! Honestly, some of my favorite bridal portraits I’ve even taken!

Joey and Becky invited family and friends to their little piece of special up in Wisconsin’s Northwoods. They wanted their day to be centered around their marriage and two lives becoming one; an intimate backyard affair was the perfect choice. Guests traveled great distances, driving up from Illinois to celebrate their special day with them. Everyone bundled up, snuggled in, and took their seats as their intimate ceremony began. There may have been a chill in the air, but their ceremony was filled with so much love and warmth any frigidness seemed to melt away. They sealed it with a kiss and we captured a few family photos outside before heading to the heated tent for great company and a fantastic meal!

I had such a great wonderful time capturing Joey and Becky’s love and telling the story of their day. They love these two share is so radiant, it’s sure to make you smile. To top it off, the elements mother nature brought certainly made their day a little more memorable, and certainly more unique. Congratulations Joey and Becky, and thank you again for asking me to be a part of your day.
