Stacia & Doug | Wizard of Oz Inspired Wedding at Eron’s Event Barn in Stevens Point, WI

Stacia and Doug’s wedding day was full of enchantment and wonder!  Their wedding was one a little closer to me, as their family feels like my family up here is Point.  A quick little background before I get into their beautiful wedding day- I first met their family a little over 6 years ago when I met Tina and Rob (Stacia’s mom and stepdad) for their wedding plans.  Fast forward 6 years and I’ve photographed a family session, two seniors, two engagements, and now two weddings (with hopes for more in the future- love big families)!  It has been a true honor to be their family’s wedding photographer and to have worked with them over the last several years, and they have always made me feel like family.

Stacia and Doug chose the lovely Eron’s Event Barn for their special day, the same venue Tina and Rob held their reception (it’s crazy what five years can do to a venue and how much it has transformed)!  I had so much fun playing with their carefully selected details – especially Stacia’s custom Ruby Slippers!  It was fun incorporating their Wizard of Oz inspired touches of decor and details while the ladies giggled away downstairs and I caught up with the family.

Soon the guys arrived and it was time to get Doug ready and the guys outside for some portraits, we had some fun, avoided the rain, and enjoyed the cool breeze the clouds were bringing in.  It was then time to get Stacia ready and the ladies outside for photos.  By time we got outside with the ladies, you would’ve thought we were on the set of the Wizard of Oz with how much the wind picked up- it was insane, but also fun and the girls embraced it.  No sooner than finishing up the last of the ladies portraits, we made a mad dash for the barn as the rain swept over us and came in with a fury!  Thankfully we escaped the wetness, and thankfully Stacia and Doug chose such a lovely venue because it allowed for a beautiful space for Stacia’s bridal session. We opted to stay dry for some family photos before heading back out for the ceremony as the clouds let up.

Family and friends eagerly arrived and were seated as their ceremony began.  Stacia and Doug saved their first look for the aisle, and it was so precious.  As Stacia made her way to Doug, tears welled up in not only his eyes (but mine too!), as well as nearly every guest present!  They shared their promises surrounded by their nearest and dearest and sealed it with a kiss!

After a beautiful ceremony, we went out to the fields for some fun bridal party photos and Stacia and Doug’s bridal session before heading back to the barn for a lovely dinner.  There were many smiles and belly laughs throughout the evening, and some very special dances.  Thank you again Stacia and Doug for asking me to share in your special day, here are a few of my favorites that tell your story!
