Amanda and Jason have been a joy to work with from the beginning last year when they booked the studio, up through their wedding day and beyond. Amanda and Jason’s wedding day plans were affected by Covid in some really challenging ways, including last minute venue changes! But they didn’t allow that to stand in the way of their planned nuptials. They moved full steam ahead and were getting married come hell or high water- and I applaud them for it! They originally booked my studio to work with another lead, but then again Covid had to mess with that too. So about eight weeks or so before their wedding, I had to have the hard conversation with Amanda informing her another trusted associate lead would be working with them. I know this was hard for them to hear, and I’m sure incredibly scary, but I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and Sara was the perfect fit for them on their wedding day. I’m so incredibly thankful to have my clients trust on their wedding day and so much more. Here is Amanda’s take on their amazingly stylized wedding day!
I arrived in the morning to the Lodge in Mauston to start on Amanda’s details, while the girls were finishing up at the salon. When I saw Amanda’s dress, my jaw dropped – it is so gorgeous and detailed with black! Which was perfect for the celestial theme of the wedding. All of the details had stars & the night sky incorporated, which was so dazzling!
Shortly after, Jason & the boys arrived to get dressed. Then it was time for Jason to open his gift from his bride. After scanning a QR code, a beautiful song covered & recorded by Amanda popped up on Jason’s phone (Never Stop by Safetysuit- sorry I can’t help myself from identifying songs). In addition, he got a framed piece of art featuring the soundwave of the song filled with a galaxy pattern.
The gentlemen headed back to their room, and shortly after the ladies arrived to get dressed. But first, the ladies poured some mimosas! Amanda got into her dress with the assistance of the maid of honor & her mom. Amanda opened her present from Jason, which was a framed star map. After some finishing touches, we headed to Buckhorn State Park for the first look.
We found a nice shady area at Buckhorn, and I got Jason into position for the first look. The small bridal party & I watched as the two shared a moment alone, seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. After that, we went right into the bridal party portraits and then the bride & groom session. Before we knew it, it was time to head back and get these two married!
The ceremony spot was a cute, shady area behind the hotel where friends & family had begun to fill the seats. The ceremony itself was short & sweet – the two exchanged vows and sealed it with a kiss! The couple mingled with the guests, and then we set up to do family photos.
The cocktail hour & reception followed in the hotel. The reception area was beautifully decorated with the celestial theme – little paper stars, blue fairy lights, and a gorgeous galaxy cake. After the bridal party was announced, the best man & maid of honor gave heart-felt speeches to the group. The bride & groom cut the cake, and then dinner was served. We snuck out for just a few more photos at sunset, and I’m so happy we did because the light was gorgeous! After that, it was time for the first dances. Amanda & Jason shared a sweet slow dance, followed by a dance with Amanda & her father, and then one dance each with Jason and his mom & step mom. Then it was time to PARTY – and these guys really brought it! Lots of dancing, especially for the throwback songs! As the night went on, it was time for me to head out, so I said goodnight to the happy couple. I am so grateful the stars aligned for me to have been a part of this beautiful day with Amanda & Jason!
